“The Bubbly Love Course”

(All Ages)

In-Person: Tuesdays, 6PM-7PM, Beginning: November 7, 2023

Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York

*Materials: 1 Composition Notebook, Pen, Pencil, Activewear, Yoga Mat*

The Bubbly Love workshop’s goal is to inspire Self-Love, Mental Wellness, and Healing through the Arts. The Bubbly Love Course explores Creative forms such as Music, Rap, Poetry, Song Writing, Storytelling, Dance, Improv, Theater, Art, and Fashion. This wide range of Artistic forms provides the foundation to build a customized self-love course for your daily life. By the end of our course together, we will be able to identify our emotions and find fun and healthy ways for free expression. We all have “Super-Powers” and the ability to use Art as Therapy. Through intentional practices that connect our Spiritual selves with our Physical selves, students will learn how the power of Mindfulness can help us to bring more happiness into our lives.       

Syllabus:

Chapter 1: Meditation, Positive Affirmations, Journaling

Chapter 2: Music, Sound, Instruments

Chapter 3: Rap, Songwriting, Storytelling

Chapter 4: Yoga, Dance

Chapter 5: Theater, Improv

Chapter 6: Fashion, Art, Performance

 

                                DEMO Lesson:

Chapter 1: Positive Affirmations: Students create a Chant using the Medicine Drum and positive words and phrases to inspire us.

Positive Affirmation Chant:

“I love my body. I love me for me. Everything about me. That’s how I should be. I love me, me, me, me, I love me, me, me, me, I love me!”

 

 Full Course Learning Outcomes:

Use of four main types of learning styles: Visual, Auditory, Tactile, and Kinesthetic

Visual: Students will observe Instructor play a song, write a song, and dance to a song

Auditory: Students will listen to instrument sounds and words by Instructor, then repeat

Tactile: Students will feel instruments and learn about materials used to create sounds

Kinesthetic: Students will write songs, compose melodies with instruments, and create dances with classmates

Evaluate their own processes for learning and practice.

Mindfulness in receiving information with the 5 senses, and the effects on emotions.

Mindset Transformation with the Power of Intention

Leadership skills, Creative Thinking & Confidence to express individuality!

Understanding of deep breathing, and how it connects to the voice & body movement/function.

Translate emotions and expression into instrumental sound, vocal, and movement, learning to harmonize and compose unique pitches, rhythms, and songs.

Public speaking, Storytelling.

Integrate their ear training skills with expressive performance and creative music-making, including Improvisation.

Songwriting and Creative Writing techniques

Ability to convey their thoughts into Creative Writing variations & Spoken Word.

Reading Comprehension, Ability to translate moral, themes, and emotions of creative writing.

Understanding of Figurative Language, Nouns, Verb, Synonyms, Antonyms, Adjectives, Rhymes,
