COURSE CURRICULUM
Objective: To provide mothers and their children a bonding experience where they can create and decorate a Bento cake together, learning the basics of cake making and decoration.
Agenda:
- Introduction
- Icebreaker activity: Quick introductions and sharing one favorite dessert.
- Brief on Bento cakes: History and significance.
- Demonstration
- Professional demo of making a basic Bento cake.
- Ingredients and tools explanation.Pre-backed cakes and bento boxes will be provided
- Cake Decorating
- Presentation on different ways to decorate Bento cakes.
- Hands-on cake decoration with guidance.
Decoration Ingredients:
- Whipped Cream
- Fondant
- Edible food colors
- Edible sprinkles
- Fruits (like berries, kiwi slices, etc.)
- Chocolate chips or shavings
- Edible glitter or gold leaf (optional)
- Conclusion and Presentation
- Showcase the decorated Bento cakes.
- Group photo with the finished cakes.
- Feedback session.
End Result:
- Every mother-child duo will leave with their own Bento cake, which they’ve baked and decorated themselves.
- It was a memorable experience of teamwork, creativity, and bonding.

Additional Notes:
- Make sure to address any food allergies among participants before the workshop.
- The workshop can be tweaked to include all parent-child duos, not just mothers.
- Ensure the venue is safe for children: no sharp objects within reach, etc.
- A small goody bag with cake-making tools (like small silicone molds or spatulas) can be given as souvenirs.
