COURSE CURRICULUM
Age group: 4+ ages and up
Learning objectives:
- Familiarization with basic watercolor materials and equipment.
- Awareness and understanding of basic watercolor & landscape painting techniques.
- Explore visual expression, spatial intelligence, and color recognition.
4. Learn how to coordinate the small movements of their fingers to produce a work of art.
- Synthesis and execution of critical topics into paintings.
- Enables children to develop their creative skills.
- Reinforces children’s ability to engage with the world in new ways, which promotes inquiry, reflection, and critical-thinking skills.

Class 1: Introduction/ Learning about materials and equipment/ Color Wheel
Class 2: Warm V.S. Cold Color Painting
Class 3: Monochrome Painting
Class 4: Sheep Painting
Class 5: Flower in a Jar Painting
Class 6: Under the Sea Painting
Class 7: Waterfall Landscape Painting
Class 8: Still-Life Fruit Painting
Class 9: Fall Scenery Painting
Class 10: Showcase exhibit
- Bringing it all together: Applying learning points of all previous classes.
- Gather the students into a close group and highlight the paintings.
- Critique & comments
- Responding to and encouraging children’s painting is essential. Think of thought-provoking questions. “I see you used red and yellow. What other colors might you use and where are you going to put them?” or “This part of your paper is filled with pink and white spots. What do you want to do with your painting next?” or, “What are you going to do with your painting when it’s done?”
